Here it is last week:
And here it is now:
Last week (actually like two years ago, because I didn't take a Before picture and this is the only one I could find):
And now:
Turns out it's really cheap and easy to make art out of wood. Who knew?
And the wall above the stairs went from this:
To this:
And here's my favorite part. This little homemade box with too-tall grass is serving not just one, but TWO purposes.
It's hiding all 45 electrical outlets that someone thought we needed on this wall, and it charges Ben's gadgets when he gets home from work and stashes them there. Multi-functional! I'm like an inventor.

You are like an inventor. In fact you're just like an inventor. We should see if there's someplace you can apply for an official certificate.
very impressive, now come to my house!!
hey kim, in like 50 years when i finally get a house will you be my master decorator? mkay, thanks.
Very cute! I like the wood art! Teach me :)
Thanks, guys!
Jamie, the wood art was very easy. I just bought 5 of the cheapest wood I could find at Home Depot ($1.98 for 6" x 6', I think), cut them in half, stained them, attached them with two skinny pieces of wood going the opposite direction in the back, and then stuck a giant stencil on the front (thank you, Silhouette machine) and painted. You can do it!
P.S. Your baby is ADORABLE. I want to eat her!
I need details on your fork thing - I'm going to copy.
Trevor, I'll make you one. Just pack up your family and come get it. :)
Or I'll e-mail you the specifics.
Can you mail me your giant silhouette stencils?
