You Know You're Originally From California But Most Recently From Utah If...
1) You make Jell-o, but then 2) When you put it in the fridge, you move everything else off that shelf because if there's an earthquake in the next four hours, something's going to land in the Jell-o.
Yeah, funny thing about earthquakes. Once you've been through a good one your behavior is permanently altered. I think it's funny how some of the earthquake tips are completely bogus. Grandma filled up her bathtub immediately after the Northridge quake as instructed so that she would have water for cleaning purposes. (They had no water for several days.) It wasn't more than a couple hours later that a good-sized aftershock threw ALL of the water out of the tub (her bathroom was flooded). Whoever came up with that advice clearly had never experienced a goodsized earthquake and the hundreds of aftershocks that always follow! (By the way, this is Mom.)
I've been worried about earthquakes too. Is it true that you're not supposed to hang out in the doorway during one? Did you read that email from Grandma?

At least you didn't put carrot in it! That means you are still more Cali than Utah.
Uh, you're kidding...right?
