Bring On The Nutella

This morning I took Liam to his annual visit with the allergist. This year he was tested for cats, dogs, almonds, brazil nuts, cashews, coconut, hazelnuts, pecans, pistachios, sunflower seeds, and walnuts.


Now it’s five hours later and he still looks like he has chicken pox. But the good news is that he’s not allergic to brazil nuts or hazelnuts. Also, I'll never have to be talked into getting a pet. I can't wait to see what next year brings.

The Best $30 I Ever Spent

You should know that 10-foot by 30-inch plastic swimming pools are on sale at Walgreens right now. Supposedly they’re normally $80, but I got mine last night for $30.

We set it up today and Liam turned from a big scaredy-cat into the next Michael Phelps in about five seconds.

Liam and I were sorting through baby toys yesterday when Liam found his old glow worm. He was so excited to be reunited with his “baby.” He said, “Mom, ask me if I want to play with toys with you.”

“Okay, Liam, do you want to play with toys with me?” I asked. “No, I’m busy,” he replied. “I have to feed my baby.”

A Few Things You Should Know About My Dad:

He just called home to find out what my brother’s cell phone number is. He gave my brother that cell phone a few months ago, with that phone number, after using it himself for several years.

He calls me “Stacey Kimmi” at least 90% of the time, and he calls my sister “Kimmi Stacey.” He calls our friends things like “The Roofer’s Kid” and “Blue Eyes” because he doesn’t remember names.

And yet, when Sweet Home Alabama was on TV the other day, he sat there and quoted the entire movie word-for-word.

Kind Of Like Christmas

We're flying to LAX tomorrow morning, and apparently Liam is really excited about the airplane ride. Ben put him to bed an hour ago and he's already asked twice if it's time to wake up yet.



We'll be gone for 11 days, so I packed 11 overnight Pull-Ups and 11 naptime Pull-Ups for Liam, plus 76 regular diapers and 2 swim diapers for Eliza. It blows my mind that you can live for two weeks in Europe out of a small suitcase, or you can travel with children and fill that entire same suitcase with diapers.
